16 August 2010 - Extra flight to Amsterdam Schiphol


Effective the 01st of November an extra flight to/from Amsterdam Schiphol will be operated on Mondays. The flight will be operated in a two class configuration (Economy and Business Class) by State of the Art Airbus 319. Now you can fly 4 times weekly to Amsterdam Schiphol with increased connection possibilities beyond Tripoli to e.g. Johannesburg and Accra. Fly Afriqiyah Airways.

 

04 June 2010 - New routes to Lyon and Milan


Afriqiyah Airways will add two new destinations in Europe to its route network; Lyon and Milan.
From the 18th of July four weekly flights will be operated from Lyon to Tripoli with excellent. connections to its African destinations.
From the 15th of July three weekly flights will be operated from Milan to Tripoli with excellent connections to its African destinations.
All flights will be operated by State of the Art Airbus 319 in a two class configuration (Economy and Business Class).

12 May 2010 - More information about FLIGHT 8U 771


Afriqiyah Airways, announces that our flight 8U771 had an accident during landing at Tripoli Airport at 04.00 AM / 06.00 AM Tripoli Time at today Wednesday the 12th of May 2010.
At this moment there is no further information concerning possible casualties and survivors. The information is that 93 passengers and 11 crew members are on board. The competent authorities are conducting the search and rescue mission.

20 September 2009 - New aircrafts have arrived


The first State of the Art long-haul aircraft Airbus 330 has arrived in Tripoli. The coming weeks more brand new aircrafts of the types A330 and A319 will join the fleet. The aircraft will be used on Afriqiyah Airways routes to Johannesburg, Accra and Nigeria within African and to Manilla and Peking in Asia. All seats in aswell the Economy Class and Business Class have a great seat-pitch and Personal Entertainment System.

19 September 2008 - New route to Dubai - 4 weekly flight

Afriqiyah Airways received its first new Airbus 319-ER and which starts into service effective the 23rd of September on its new route to Dubai. The world capital Dubai will be served 4 times per week non-stop from Tripoli International Airport.

 

01 June 2008 - New aircraft in service from September 2008

Afriqiyah Airways is expecting delivery of its new ordered Airbus 319-ER in September. Alle new aircrafts have a Economy and Business Class configuration with comfortable leather seats and a personal inflight entertainment system in both classes.

 

05 September 2007 - New route to Dakar, Senegal

Afriqiyah Airways will operate effective the 01st of November 2007 four weekly flights to Dakar, Senegal.

 

01 September 2007 - New route to Duesseldorf, Germany

In Europe Afriqiyah Airways adds again a destination: Duesseldorf. From Duesseldorf Afriqiyah Airways will operate three flights per week to Tripoli with onward connections to all African destinations.

 

25 June 2007 - Afriqiyah Airways orders six A350's and five Airbus 320's

Afriqiyah Airways has ordered six A350's and five Airbus 320's from Airbus. The young and dynamic airline will use these aircraft for an expansion of it's route network.

 

04 August 2006 - Amsterdam Schiphol 3 flights weekly

Effective Sunday 26 October Afriqiyah Airways will also operated every Sunday from Amsterdam Schiphol to Tripoli with onward connections to Accra, Bangui and Lagos.

 

18 July 2006 - new Airbus order for Afriqiyah Airways

Afriqiyah Airways has signed a 'memorandum of understanding' to buy 12 Airbus planes for an estimated 1.0 bln usd, with the option to purchase eight further aircraft. Afriqiyah Airways has signed a memorandum of understanding for the acquisition of six A320s and three A319s plus an option on five as well as for three A330-200Fs, plus three options.

In May 2006 Afriqiyah Airways will start services to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia (3 weekly flights).

 

29 March 2006 - Cairo

Effective the 17th of June Afriqiyah Airways will operate two weekly flights to Cairo (Egypt).

 

21 March 2006 - ISO 9001

Afriqyah Airways has been awarded with the ISO 2001-9001 certificate.

 

11 March 2006 - Benghazi

In April 2006 Afriqiyah will start it's service to the second capital of Libya; Benghazi.

 

20 February 2006 - Amsterdam

On March 28 Afriqiyah Airways starts two weekly flight to Amsterdam Schiphol, The Netherlands.

 

20 February 2006 - Douala

In April 2006 Afriqiyah Airways will start two weekly flights to Douala, Cameroon.

 

20 February 2006 - Bangui
